To ensure the Club Excellence program is always current and growing, a Sport Advisory Group will be struck to work with the third party management structure.
The Sport Advisory Group’s purpose is to:
- Develop strategies and tools to support clubs;
- Ensure that the standards are relevant and attainable; and
- Ensure that the Club Excellence program is providing value to its clients.
The Sport Advisory Group will include the following participants:
- One representative from the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC);
- One representative from Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L);
- Two Club Excellence certified club representatives;
- One representative from municipal government;
- Two representatives from the Club Excellence Cooperative (CEC);
- One representative from the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES); and
- One to two associate members.
What is Club Excellence?
- National certification program
- Supports any and all sports
- Third-party-operated, fair and transparent process
- Recognizes clubs and associations that invest in building capacity to meet and exceed a basic set of operating principles
- Based on 30 standards in six core areas: program delivery; coaching; people management; governance; financial accountability; and marketing, recruitment and revenue generation
- Can contribute to better governance; increased financial accountability; improved integration with national and provincial sport organization programs; and increased awareness of LTAD or LTPD philosophies
